About Jon

Jon Puro is a solo pianist and composer whose repertoire covers a wide array of musical styles, from classical and jazz to ragtime, contemporary, original works, and beyond. Jon is an accomplished musician who has studied under renowned teachers, including Dr. Calvin Knapp and Grammy Award winner Peter Boe. With more than five decades of experience playing piano, he is dedicated to continuously developing his skills and sharing his love of music with others.

Jon has played as a solo artist and in jazz ensembles at numerous venues around the Portland area. Currently, he plays mostly classical music—with some ragtime thrown in—at Rimsky Korsakoffee House every Thursday night from 7 to 11 p.m. Stop by this classic Portland venue to hear him play and enjoy house-made desserts and coffee.

Jon also shares his love of music and the power of music to nurture people by regularly playing at Blanchet House, a nonprofit social services organization in Portland that provides food, clothing, and supportive housing programs for those in need.

In addition to performing, Jon has produced three albums and a wealth of self-published sheet music in various genres. He also teaches piano in Portland, Oregon.
